Question
Hi Dr Grassi: I was in a Car Accident recently. I went to the ER. They took only X-Rays. Told me I had a "Whiplash". What exactly is that.? It's been 2 weeks. It is getting worse.! My right grip is weakening. I am having difficulty performing my job as a Licensed Massage Therapist. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME.? Angela,LMT.

Answer
Hi Angela: Sorry to hear of your situation. A Whiplash is Cervical acceleration deceleration injury. or CAD. This results in injury to the Neck. You have as Acute Musculo-Ligamentous Sprain/Strain. Beyond the Xray, I would like to see you schedule an MRI Scan of your neck to see if you may have injured a Disc in your Neck. This may explain your symptoms. BE SURE TO SEE A CHIROPRACTOR IN YOUR AREA TO COORDINATE THIS. I cannot prescribe it online. Please write back. Dr Ron Grass,DC.,MS. Jupiter,Florida.  www.DrGrassi.com
