Question
when I was 22 old, I had one year of bad luck. I was a hit a run victim which damaged my left hip and in the same year, I fell 32 feet from a building, damaging my spine in several places and drove in to a swimming pool damaging my neck. Now at the age of 47, I am experiencing numbness, now and again, in the entire upper left leg between my hip and knee.. the hospitals here in China say I have osteoporosis... can you tell me what is my problem and is there anything I can do to fix it. It is difficult to talk with anyone since I am a Canadian living in China.

Answer
wow, that is some history. If you had more details from old mri's or xrays, nerve tests, etc... it would help me understand exactly what we are talking about when you say spine damage. If you have not had an mri recently, you should get one (considering all your old injuries).
your nerves from your upper low back at L1, L2, L3 , control sensation in the legs from the hip to the knee and also control other parts of your body, kidneys, muscles too. so , i would suggest an xray or mri and then let me know what it says.
or you could try to find a chiropractor in china, and he will order the appropriate tests. get yourself a translation machine (iphone has one you can download) and it will translate to chinese for you so you can communicate well or bring chinese friend to the doctor with you. good luck
1 keep me posted.
ps- you guys got lucky in that hockey game! i knew it would be hard to beat canada twice in the olympics.
