Pain and constant cracking in lower back

Question
I was involved in a serious car accident 4 weeks ago today, in where we ended up hitting a tree (in reverse). While I did not sustain any broken bones, I injured my lower back. My doctor says muscles take time to repair themselves. My question is the pain in my lower back affects the way I walk and also my spine is constantly cracking...is this part of the healing process?

Answer
no its not. the cracking has nothing to do with healing. The human body heals naturally, as do muscles, but that has nothing to do with the noise you are hearing. It could be cracking for several reasons. I would consult a chiropractor if you are having a difficult time walking. When you are in a car accident that can jar the spine and cause mis-alignments of the spinal vertebra. If not dealt with now you could develop more serious problems later. take care of it now.
