Question
QUESTION: Can a strong adjustment perhaps occasionally cause something like rope burn in a
breast.  My larger breast is very sensitive to the touch not far from the nipple
area..like little pin pricks when clothes move atop it.  I am using neosporin on
it.  It began a few hours after a strong adjustment and perhaps I scratched it
in taking off my bra or it was rubbed in the movement and is recovering I hope.
There is no visible evidence of a problem. Thank you for your answer. I have had
adjustments for years and this is the first time for this.

ANSWER: Dear Jan,

I have not heard of this happening before. My suggestion is to make sure that everything is normal. You should schedule an appointment with your OBGYN physician to have the breast evaluated.

I hope that this helps you!

QUESTION: Is it advisable to wear a bra during an adjustment?  I never do and someone suggested that the movement might have stretched the tissue and it needs to recover.  Please let me know your thoughts and thank you for your answer.

Answer
Dear Jan,

I never have my patients get into gowns for adjustmnets.  There is no reason why you cannot wear a bra during a chiropractic adjustment.  In my office, for example, I adjust both men and women in the clothing that they wear when they come into the office. I don't have them change at all.
