Question
Hello,

I am writing you because my wife and I are at our wits end.  She gave birth to our son 16 months ago and he was rather big.  While in the womb he knock out a few of my wifes ribs from the joints.  She is continiously have T-10 thorasic pain and nothing she does really helps.  We have seen 2 different chiros one of which she is still seeing.  She is also seeing a message therapist as well.  She has been told erectors, ribs, and so many other things we dont know what to do.  We have seen every specialist that we can think of.  I just want he to be able to hold our son to be able to cough/sneeze without worrying she is doing more damage.  Do you have any ideas what this could be?

Answer
How has it been diagnosed? Was an X-ray taken? Does she have pain when taking a deep breath in? If so, she probably does have a rib displacement. If its only when she coughs or sneezes, there may be a disc herniation. A few things need to be answered: has she been seeing the chiropractor at least 3x a week for a few weeks and 2 x a week for at least 4-6 weeks? If so, then you may want to try a different chiropractor (what city do you live in?)
Another thing she can try is cold laser therapy with chiropractic. Cold laser is very effective for reducing pain and inflammation. It also heals and repairs soft tissue.
