dizzyness and bulging discs

Question
Hello,
About 10 years ago I had an MRI which revealed bulging discs between C4 and C5. I have adjusted much of my lifestyle to be sure not to overextend which can create severe spasms and for the most part have managed that.  Over the last six months I have had on and off feeling of dizzyness/lightheadedness and on and off headaches.  I have chronic sinus issues as well which doesn't help for sure however I am feeling like the dizzyness is random but mainly prominent when my neck is feeling tight/burning as if something is squeezing the nerves and blood flow to the head. I am guessing that inflammation is a contributor which I take Ibuprofen for but provides little relief. Trying to determine the best course of treatment. Any ideas?

Answer
Tara,

Many folks have bulging discs in their spine and it is often not the cause of their problems.   In other words, many folks with bulging discs have no pain, while some do, and the pain is often in the neck and adjacent to the shoulder blade.   If the bulging disc directly touches a neck nerve, it will cause symptoms into the shoulder, arm, hand or fingers.     Dizziness is related to other structures in the neck or head, and very likely is related to your sinuses.    I'll bet that if you get your sinusitis under control, your dizziness will go away.   See your PCP or EENT doc about the sinuses.

'Hope this helps.
