Question
is high powered rf estim bad for you. It seemed to work at first but I now have worse shoulder pain and neck pain.  It seems to numb my muscles but wears off after 3 hrs or so, and as soon as I begin using the affected muscles.  Machine used is a rf e-box.  I am worried this is causing more damage even thould it gives me immediate relief.  What is this high powered estim doing to me?  Is it suppressing nerves for a while or what?

Answer
Hi Valerie,

I have not seen any evidence that it is bad for you.  But, like a lot of things, too much might not be a great idea.   It is a radio-wave device...   These devices will not improve your fascia, such as to undo adhered or snagged fascia or alleviate fascial adhesions.  If you have myofascial pain, you need to consider the following:  www.grastontechnique.com; www.FAKTR.com;  Go to these web sites and check them out.  Fascia needs to be manually treated, and then you need to do the right kind of exercises to condition the "myo-fascial" system.  This often involves light-resistance higher rep' exercises.   Also, for neck and shoulder pain, a good chiropractor is your best bet.   See if you can find someone on this list:  www.acbsp.com, and even better if the DC is trained in Graston technique or FAKTR.

'Hope this was helpful.
