Question
Sir, I have been diagnosed cervical rib by a neurosurgeon and an orthopaedician. They gave some medicinal treatment for sometime.I felt relief for the time i took the medicine. Now the pain in the left upper back has started again alongwith tiredness in the left ribs.
Kindly suggest what shall i do now.
        THANKS.

Answer
You would probably benefit from doing some sort of physical therapy and manual therapy. Stretching and range of motion exercises for the neck may relieve some of your symptoms. Massage, Active Release Techniques (www.activerelease.com), and chiropractic care may also help. A cervical rib is one of the causes of thoracic outlet syndrome so keep an eye out for symptoms such as numbness or tingling in the hands. In any case, I would start by making an appointment with a physical therapist.
