Neck Popping

Question
My wife woke up this morning and stretched. During the stretch, she felt and heard a "pop" on the left side of her neck behind her ear. She is now in pain and cannot turn her head to the left. She told me that the pain is rated at about a 6 (scale 1-10) when she moves and a 3 when she is lying in a comfortable position. Is there anything we can do at home to help this out? My doctor's office doesn't open until 8am est. Can we wait this long to call him or should I take her to the ER? Please advise.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Mark,

A Chiropractor can handle this in short order, these are easily fixed with manipulation to reduce the subluxation. All an MD will do is prescribe pain meds and do a bunch of x-rays that will show nothing.
It sounds lie she just twisted it out of place and will go back to normal with the correct adjustment.

Good Luck!
