Question
I was trying to push something and felt something in my shoulder.  That night I had a pain in my shoulder which eventually ran down by arm.  I got an X-ray but no break or fracture.  I went to an orthopedic and he said it is a pinched nerve in the neck.  My neck is feeling a little better but my should and arm is killing me,  I have some clicking in the back of my neck.  Please help I am in pain.

Answer
Mary,

Sounds like a nerve pinch, to me.  The clicking in your neck supports that view.

Usually, those come from muscular contractions in the neck or shoulder.

For short-term relief, chiropractic, massage or stretching may help; for lasting relief, I'd see a somatic educator for muscle-retraining.

If you don't get relief from chiropractic, massage, or stretching, you'll remember this response and look it up.
