Question
I have a question if you dont mind answering. I have had pain in my tail bone for 2 years. I have beeen to many drs and finally found a surgeon that treats this. He did some cortisone shots today and told me if the shots help then i need to have it removed if the shots didnt help then its not my tailbone. Sounds funny to me that it would be oif the pain went away with the shot that its actusally the coxxy bone. Can you help me answer this please

Answer
Cathy,
It sounds like over the last 2 years you have not been to the right doctors.  Are all of these doctors including the surgeon, not able to tell you what the problem is?  It sounds like guesswork to me, and guessing with your health and your LIFE should just not be an option for you.  If you are happy with this then that is on you, but YOU must take charge of your LIFE, as no one else can make those decisions and no one else will certainly accept the responsibility of any consequences as a result.
The work that we do at our clinic for example is very specific and is concentrated completely on locating and correcting the cause of your health problems without the use of harmful drugs or surgery.  On the first visit we will both have a very good idea if we can help you or not, and certainly after the 2nd visit we will know for sure.
Just be careful because almost all surgery is irreversible and dangerous, and besides we have found that surgery does not correct the cause of the problem in almost all cases, especially when guesswork is involved.
Was there any sort of trauma that occurred prior to the tailbone pain, was a slip on the ice at any point, was there a sports injury, were you ever in a car accident, or any other type of injury?  These are some of the questions that we would ask you in our detective work besides doing special medical and chiropractic tests including Nervous System and Orthopedic evaluations that you should have done.  At the very least to rule this out BEFORE you do something drastic like surgery.  Does any of this make sense to you?
Yours in Best Health,
Dr Arnone
