Question
I've been getting pain in some of my fingers that comes and goes. i have a small bump on the middle joint of my finger that is painful to the touch, both my thumbs also hurt when pressure is applied while bending. also for the past few weeks i've been hearing and feeling a pop in my pinky. once when i bend it and again when i straighten it out. The left pinky started to do it to for the past few days. I have autoimmune thyroiditis and have recently had many problems with my fingers and toes (mostly in winter). Swelling, discoloration, and very cold. Toes (possible raynaud's) fingers (resembled pernio). My Rf lab was not positive but was very close according to lab ranges. Is this a joint problem?

Answer
Hi Cynthia,

It could be, it also could be an auto-immune problem. Get a CRP and ANA blood test to be sure. Find an Internest MD to get the Dx correct, once you find out what you have, get back to me for further advice.

Good Luck!
