Replacement of Steroid
9/23 17:22:10

Question
My mother is a Rheumatic patient and she is on steroids, is there any way to replace her medicine?

Answer
It depends on severity, there are many medical options. These should be discussed with her rheumatologist. Steroids are usually the last thing you want to take if at all avoidable. Glucosamine sulfate may help for RA, it is proven to reverse OA but the jury is still out on other arthropathies. I would read past questions for more info, but without seeing her and knowing her history, only her doctor can make a med change.

Good Luck!

Dr. Tim
