Question
Thanks for your earlier answer regarding Osteoarthritis. I wanted to find out if using a stationary bike would effect my knees. Would avoiding treadmill altogether be a good option or  can I use it for short time or walk on it on slow speed.Would elliptical trainer be good for arthritis? Water related exercises may not be possible for me since there isn't a good swimming pool nearby to my place. I think gym is only a good option.

Answer
Walking on a treadmill should be fine. It is better than walking on the street. Usually the best way is two try the various machines and see which ones work best for you.

Elliptical trainers are good in that they provide a full range of motion for the muscles around the knee and require an equalized exercise on both legs. It is hard to favor one leg or the other. Favoring one leg can cause you to put unnatural pressure on your knees.
