Question
Hello Doctor!

I had been suffering with accute pain in my both the legs since August 2004.  I visited the physician who advised me to get done the GT1 Test.  This test revealed that Urea Bun and Uric Acid level is too high in my body.  My physician further advised me to get done the sonography.  The sonography report suggested that the lever has access fat accummulated and the size is also a bit big.  My physician prescribed few medicines to me and suggested the diet precautions to avoid access uric acid formation.  He also advised me to control the fat.  I am 33 and half years old, 5'11" tall and my weight is 85 Kg.  In total I do not look like a heavy or fat man from any angle.

The most important thing he told me is that my "Biological Clock" is disturbed due to the uncertain working hours.  I would like to specifically mentioned that in my career I had fixed working hours and I was used to take my dinner around 8.00 p.m.  After the dinner I was used to take a night walk for an hour.  Since April 2002 I have been working in a company where working hours are uncertain and I do not have any fixed time for having my dinner.  One more thing I would like to mention that I used to go to toilet twice in a day, first in the morning and second in the evening before dinner.  Since my timings are uncertain, often I feel that my motion cycle is also disturb and most of the time I have stomach problem such as constipation, loose motions, frequent motions, etc.

I would like to know whether the route cause for all these problems is "disturbance of biological clock," as told by my physician or all these problems are due to some other reason/s.  It at all these problems are due to the disturbed biological clock, how it could be fixed keeping in mind the uncertain working hours.  I am told that very shortly this problem would start affecting my kidney, lever and heart.  Is it true?

Your answer would enable me to take decision for change of job, therefore, kindly give me best of your opinion.

Anxiously awaiting for your reply.

Thanks!

Prakash Sharma

Answer
Dear Prakasha,   I do not know if this is related to a biological clock or not, but I do know that you uric acid levels are way to high which can cause Gout and could very possibly cause kidney stones etc....

Reduction of fat is not being suggested because the doctor thinks you are FAT, it is being suggested because of fat/cholesterol/plaque build up in your body....

You need to get on a routine of some sort with your eating habits, exercise habits, watch your uric acid intake and fat intake and basically start living healthy....

thank you,   karen
