Question
I've had stinging and aching pain in the medial potion of my ankle for about a month.  It had ached somewhat on and off for a few months before that. I am mid-age and believe
it is ankle tendonitis. I read your area concerning this,
trying to rest, ice somewhat, ankle restraint, etc., but walking/working on my feet still brings out much pain.

Will this ever go away?

please assist..

Thank you,

Sue

Answer
Sue,

It would be advisable for you to see a doctor. While this dose sound like it could be Tendonitis. It could be several other things such as a mild fracture or arthritis. Getting a specific diagnosis will aid in developing the proper treatment. Your doctor may also recommend physical therapy. This can help strengthen the supporting muscles to take pressure off of the inflamed tendon.

If it is Tendonitis, it should eventually go away. Since Tendonitis is an inflammatory condition then taking an omega 3 fatty acid supplement may help. There are many studies that show that daily omega 3 to me as affective as most anti-inflammatory drugs. If you try one make sure it is from a vegetable source or if from a fish source that it is purified to remove metals and enteric coated so that it digests in the small intestine instead of the stomach so that you do not burb up a fish taste.
