Answer
Prachi,

Sorry to hear this. It does sound confusing. There is not enough information here for me to even make a guess. So here is some information about the two different conditions.

Reactive arthritis is caused by a bacterial infection. This infection is usually a genital infection (venereal disease such as gonorrhea)or it can be an infection in the colon.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease where your body's immune system begins attacking your joints.

Rheumatoid Arthritis is not diagnosed by one blood test. However if a blood test shows that you have an infection in the genitals or colon and you have the joint symptoms you describe then reactive arthritis is most probably a consideration. The good news is when the infection is treated and gone so is the arthritis.

There are types of fungus that can cause arthritis as well.

I suggest that you call your doctors office and ask for a referral to a Rheumatologist. If your doctor thinks you have Rheumatoid arthritis then it is a Rheumatologist that should be treating you. You deserve answers and it does not appear that you are getting them.

I wish you the best and hope you find answers soon.
