Question
Hi... First of all, thanks for the 1st question, it was about imaging (it is outside of your expertise)BUT, thanks anyway!
Can you tell me what fields involve physical therapy? What types of physical therapy exist?
THANKS!

Answer
Dear Doina:

Physical therapy can include occupational therapy; helping people to learn how to do daily things to get around, such such as dressing, toileting, cooking, after they have had surgery.  Physical therapy is working with the muscles.  Basically exercise.  They are both wonderful things and sometimes cross over.  Physical therapy is hard work as you are sometimes lifting people and moving them.  You have to take anatomy, physiology which is hard, but if you work at it it's very rewarding.  You might also have to go through testing as I think you need to be licensed in order to practice.

Physical therapy may also include aspects of massage too. (I know mine did).

I was also thinking of your imaging question yesterday, in fact, and to give you a wild guess, I think it might have to do with MRI's and CAT scans. but I am not sure.

Hope this helps.

Sharon

One thing you might want to know is that I work for a large massage school and we have students come in who do massage and then go into chiropractic work, physical therapy, and nursing.
