QUESTION: I had a sports injury and the ball hit my finger and it was swollen blue and stiff so my mom took me to the hospital and they took xrays and it was fractured so they applied a splint and I made a appointment to a specialist who rushed his job and said it wasn't fractured but it was so he took off the splint so I got upset and decided not to go back now my finger can't bend all the way and my fingers go numb with pain in my finger and hand I also have a crooked pinkie.did my finger heal the wrong way because the doctor removed the splint too early?

Why were you upset? How do you know he rushed? Maybe he was so experienced that he could tell right away. If there is no fracture-then you need to do gentle movement daily to increase range of motion. If you think there is a problem-have another local specialist look at it

QUESTION: Thanks for the response.I was upset because I was always being told that a fracture heals in a couple of weeks and it scared me thinking about what if my finger heals the wrong way and I don't know if there's any medicine that can stop the numbness and pain.Thanks for everything.

Listen to your friends & relatives when they show you their medical degree.
Each injury is unique & has different healing times & outcomes. It's not too late--- If you think there is a problem-have another local specialist look at it-or just go back if the doctor has a good reputation.
