Question
I had a hip pinning done on May 9th, for quite some time now I felt great, little pain from the surgery and able to do most everything I did pre-break.  It is now 7 months and the last few weeks have been very painful for me in the knee and thigh muscle.  The past 4 days almost unbearable, my ankle has swelled daily and the leg is extremely tender,  I work full time and this break occurred at work but I returned to work regular status July 31.  Could this horrible pain be from the swollen muscle in my thigh or could something happened to the pinning procedure?

Answer
Dear Mary

I wish I could answer that, but I am not a doctor.  I think that it's important that you get to the orthopedist and have him or her check out the leg and see if there is anything new going on.  The pain and swelling is a signal to you that it needs to be checked out.
