My mother has pins in her hip and is going to get on an airplane soon, will the pins be a problem going through security?

The pins or screws will most likely be detected, they will then have her step to the side and they will use a wand to scan over her hips where it will be clear to them that she is okay to fly.You can have her doctor issue her a card or write on a RX pad that she has medical hardware etc..in her hips..but still the wonderful TSA agents will most likely wand her. If your airport has a body scanner the hardware will show up here as well..so yes it will be a little problem,but just be patient.
