Question
QUESTION: Hello, I am 22 years old, male.  Last March I overtrained myself pretty badly and needed 3 weeks of inactivity and another 2 weeks of light training to recover.  I have now overtrained myself again.  I am lightheaded, have occasional dizziness, sleep disturbances, pain, feeling 'off', etc.  Judging by the way I feel, I think I will recover fairly quickly from this episode.  However, I understand that exercise is stressful to the body and that too much can do more harm than good.  Because of this I am concerned over how this has potentially affected my long term health.  Is it possible that I have cut years off of my life from this stress?  I have made the decision to monitor my activity level more closely from here on out, but is there anything I can do to make up for the past stress I have placed my body under?  Thank you.

ANSWER: David,
If health and longevity is something that you are concerned with, then I must suggest that you get an Upper Cervical Specific Doctor of Chiropractic immediately.  This one action will be the single greatest thing that you could do for your health, and here's why:
When you were born, it is highly likely that you suffered from an upper cervical injury, this misaligns the atlas and axis vertebrae and interferes with normal mental impulse between your brain and body.  When you have an upper cervical injury that goes uncorrected, your body accumulates destruction and abnormal function each and every minute of every day until you die.  So you can exercise, and eat right, and get proper rest, etc.  You can all of the things that you think are helping you to be well, and they are all good things to do, and they are important for your health, BUT, if you are doing all of those good things and at the same time have an obstruction to proper function, you are still getting worse as far as your health is concerned.
The logical and sensible thing to do, is to first and foremost have the obstruction corrected so that your brain and your body can communicate at 100% at all times, this is where true health and healing comes from.  Then keep exercising and eating foods that provide nutrients for your cells, and have a proper mental attitude, and get plenty of rest, etc.  This is the way to near perfect health and an enjoyable LIFE for many years.
Yes, you may be "overtraining" and that may be contributing to your symptoms, but I can tell you that if you have a interference in the upper cervical spine your brain and body are not functioning properly, regardless of whether you have a symptom or not.
Did you know that a person could go to an MD for a physical, get a clean bill of health, and drop dead the next week from a heart attack while going for a morning run?  How could that be?  Because, that person had an interference at the brainstem level and MD's are not trained to detect or locate this interference and so they tell the person that they are well because they could not find a problem.  Well there is no question that this person was not well if they dropped dead the next week, were they?
I am not telling you this to scare you, but to empower you.  This knowledge can save your life, and the lives of all that you come in contact with, what is more important than LIFE?  I do not even know you, but since you reached out to me with a question, I am giving you an answer that is much more than you expected, because you are worth it, and you deserve it.
If you would like me to help you to locate a true Upper Cervical Doctor that can help you, just reply with your town and state and give me a day or tow to reply with the nearest one or two.  Keep in mind that these doctors are highly specialized and therefore are not on every corner.  You may have to travel some to get there or you may be fortunate enough to be close to one, I will let you know.
And in case you are wondering yes, this is just the tip of the iceberg, there is so much more to learn about this, that is, if you have any questions.

Nothing is bigger than LIFE,

QUESTION: Thank you for your reply.  What you are saying makes very good sense to me.  I was given a perfect score on my APGAR test at birth but due to a number of issues (poor diet, stress, and now what you are telling me about upper cervical injury) I was given to a number of illnesses as a child which often went undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. I also have always had a strange feeling in my neck which coincides very well with what you are telling me and was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse in 2002.  All of this culimnated with cancer in 2003 and since then I have been very health conscious.  Anything more you can tell me would be very much appreciated.  I am located in Paducah, Kentucky if you would help me to locate a Upper Cervical Doctor.  How many treatments can I expect it to take to correct an upper cervical injury?  Also, what are is the price range for this type of treatment?  Can you recommend any sources for further reading?  Thank you very much for your reply.

Answer
David,
I am glad that I could shed some light on your health.  I know of two wonderful doctors in Kentucky, although I don't know how close to you they will be, as I said earlier it is certainly worth it.
As far as cost and careplan, each doctor runs things slightly different although certainly in the same ballpark.  Usually the first few visits are slightly higher because of more time and work to complete.  Then usual visits for evaluation and monitoring are lower.  Some doctors may be contracted with insurance companies while many are not.  If they are not, you would look for "out of network" coverage.  The last part is that the care is affordable so that people without insurance or no coverage can still get the care.  You can talk about this with your doctor, and remember these are both personal friends of mine, and so you will be getting the best of the best for a fair price.
Let me know if these contacts will work for you or not.  If not, there may be someone in another state that is not far from you.  I wish that I could help you, but I am in St Louis and think that there are other doctors who are closer than I am to you.
