Question
This symptom started 72 hours ago and he has seen 2 doctors who pretty much told me that since they have no explanation, he is faking.  He has a strange numbing sensation from the knee down to his toes, but does not include his toes.  He is not totally numb, but feels like he has a very thick sock on and the feeling is decreased when you touch or poke it, which he has had done to him lots in the last 2 days.  No tests have been done, no xrays or anything, they just tell me he is making himself think it is feeling like that.  He said it doesn't hurt at all, just feels weird.  He also has a very strange gait, and has had for about 2 years as well as frequent headaches and neck pain but no back pain.  The doctors commented on his gait as well but said since there isn't a real pattern to it, it is nothing.  Could you please give me and opinion, I am frustrated!!!  Thank you!

Answer
Hi Dodi,

There are many times when our bodies don't work right but the doctors, and even tests, don't show us anything.  Something is wrong but we can't measure it.

In chiropractic we often see nerve irritation from the mechanics of the body.  A good chiropractic evaluation may find the cause.  Without an exam I can't give you the likelihood.  It might be in the lower back, the knee, the muscles, and so on.

So, the short answer is, get a consultation from a local doctor of chiropractic.  The website below is a good way to find one.

Hope this helps.
