Question
Hi Doctor,
Two days ago, I was wearing some high heel shoes for about 5 hours. Now, I have some numbness and tingling in the tip of my middle toes on both my feet. Will this go away or is it permanent?

Answer
Hello Lillian,

Wearing high heals will definitely put more pressure on your feet.  Sometimes the position and pressure, depending on the shoe can pinch a nerve causing your numbness and tingling.  Nerves are very slow to heal, so you may want to give it a couple weeks to see if your symptoms resolve.  If your condition last longer than a month you will want a examination of the feet.

Have a great day,
Dr. Brendon O'Brien D.C.
