This is not as bad as these big words make it seem.  There is a 99% chance that you do NOT need surgery.  Lets talk this out first, do not go under the knife just yet.
What part of the world are you from?

QUESTION: In answer to your question. I live in Bowling Green Ohio. I am a 50 year old female. On thanksgiving I could not walk. Severe pains in legs, hips, butt, ankles & feet. I could not sit stand or walk I could only lay. The pain is very bad but it does go away if I lay down.
Thank You for your time

Answer
Darlene,
There is a very select group of doctors that should be able to help you.  Just know that there are less than 500 of us in the world and therefore many times people travel hours in one direction to come for care.  Your situation is no different, I have a very good doctor in Ohio that will be able to help you and he is in Portsmouth which is on the south part of Ohio.  I believe that it is a 4 hour trip, which would be better than a 7 hour trip to St Louis.  I suggest that you at least call him and get there for an initial visit to find out if he can help you for sure.
