How likely could being kicked in the back several times lead to disc degeneration approx. 10 years later?

there are too many variables here really- kicked how hard, etc etc. But frankly I'd think results would have been seen very quickly after injury as opposed to 10 yrs later... Many people have degenerating discs, especially when considered over that long a span

so, i can't say it's IMpossible, but it seems unlikely
