Halo Brace - Parkinsons

Question
My Mom recently fell and broke her c2. They put her into a brace - but not the halo because they said there were contraindications if you also have parkinsons.  The brace she has is providing too much mobility and we're afraid she won't heal. What can you tell me about a halo brace for a person (82 years old) with Parkinson's. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Barbara,  Let me begin by telling you how sorry I am to hear of your mothers injury. In regards to your question; I am sorry but I have no experience with Parkinson's disease. But I did find the following article and on page 3 it refers to the use of halo's. I know this might not fully answer your question, but I would be willing to look for more info if you need me too. Sincerely, Ken
