Question
I had a SCI injury 25 years ago.  Initially I had paralysis from my arm pits down,  One day it started receding and I regained my ability to use all my extremeties, foot drop and no nerve signal to hamstring on right leg ,  I am now experiencing an increase in weakness, loss of  bladder control and difficulty walking,  Is there a syndrome with a SCI like polio has the post polio syndrome.  I am 64 years old now and want to know what I can do to halt this symptoms so I can keep on working

Answer
Dear Moreen,

Please see a neurologist asap. My guess is your spinal cord has pressure either from the original injured site or you have some type of problem another place on your spinal cord. I wish I could tell you more, but in my opinion this needs immediate attention.

Sincerely,
      Ken
