Question
I've just been given naproxen 550 mg for tendinitis located in my uper left shoulder area.  I'm not undergoing pain but have been advised to continue with this medication.  The theopist feels it will correlate with his physical theorphy program, by keeping the inflamation in tact.  I'm  very concerned about taking any meds that could interfere with my good health. I'm 64, and I'm not on any medication and want to keep it this way for as long as I can. Are there other options to use that will keep the inflamation in check?

Answer
Hi Cindy and thanks for writing,

There are alternative therpaies you can try to decrease inflammtion such as Herbal Supplements like Glucosamine, White Willow Bark, Vitamin C & Bromelain (and many others) -  am also a big believer in Magnetic Therapy (I recommend Nikken Magents), a diet high in Omega-3 foods (cold water fish, flaxseed, grape seed oils, etc).

I would recomend trying these alternative therpaies, but I would only do it in consultation with your doctor and therapist.

I hope it helps, good luck.

Margot
