Question
I am a 41 year old black female I've giving birth to 7 children. I have small blue veins behind my knees and on the inside of my thighs. I recently heard about Venacura. It a pill that is suppose to help reduce the way the veins look. The bottle that the pills came in said it has Diosmin I'm & Hesperidin 50mg. I have never like taken medication unless I really needed it. I would like to know if  it is safe to take? If you might be aware of any side effects it may have? If you have any other suggestion on how to decrese the appearance of the veins.

Answer
Hi Kecia and thanks for writing,

To be honest I am not familiar with Venacura so I looked up its ingredients.  According to Wikipedia: Hesperidin is a flavonoid found abundantly in citrus fruits. In human nutrition, it contributes to the integrity of the blood vessels. Diosmin is a member of the flavonoid family. It is an oral phlebotropic drug used in the treatment of venous disease, i.e., chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) and hemorrhoidal disease (HD), in acute or chronic hemorrhoids, in place of rubber-band ligation, in combination with fiber supplement, or as an adjuvant therapy to hemorrhoidectomy, in order to reduce secondary bleeding.

You are wise to avoid unnecessary medication,  Although these both appear to be safe supplements, I would go to a good Health Food Store in your area and speak to an experienced clerk and ask what they know about Venacura.

If this doesn't work, I do know last therapy is effective (but it's not cheap of course).

All my best,
Margot
