I would suggest that a good way to start would be to learn more about inclusion and person centered planning. A good web site that offers these resources is the Inclusion Press at http://www.inclusion.com/

We all depend on each other in order to lead fruitful lives. These resources will help you on your journey to understanding how to bring people together in an effort to provide "mutual support".
