Question
QUESTION: Hi.

I am scared that I might have VEDS. I know you're not a doctor, but I was wondering if you were familiar with the symptoms of VEDS and if you can notice the facial featurs of VEDS?

ANSWER: Yes, I am familiar with VEDS and can often recognize the distinct facial features.  However, facial features and symptoms alone are not enough to base a diagnosis.  These are indicators, but not true diagnostic criteria.  The only way to know for sure is to request a skin biopsy and have it sent for testing.

I saw you post that link in another answer of yours. I'm from Chicago. Can I still send them my sample, or do I have to be in Washington?

Also, if I attach a picture of myself, would you be able to tell me if you notice any facial features?

Answer
Your doctor can take the skin biopsy and ship it to the lab in Washington for testing.

Unfortunately, I can not tell you if your features appear to be VEDS because that could be construed as practicing medicine without a license and could get me in a lot of trouble.  The features include a thin pinched nose, wide eyes and ears with small lobes.  However, there are people who have these features who do NOT have VEDS just as their are people with VEDS who have none of these features.
