activator method of chiropractic adjustment

Question
I am writing a research paper for an English course. I am a massage therapist who receives chiropractic treatment. My current chiropractor uses both activator and manual adjustments, therefore I have decided to make my topic " Is the Activator method of adjustment safer than manual hand adjustment?"

If you have an opinion on this subject and/or could recommend books, articles and websites that would be of help to me I would be very greatful.
Thank you.   Ken Ruiz

Answer
All approved techniques of chiropractic are safe. My personal opinion is that activator is no safer or more of a risk for patients than manual adjusting. I use it occasionally when a patient doesn't like or need rotatory cervical adjustments, such as in the Diversified technique. Really, any chiropractic technique or combination used by the doctor is their personal taste, along with their exposure to techniques, usually during school.
