Question
One month back i felt severe pain in my left hand and i was hospitalised.MRI reveals broad based left paracentral extrusion of C6/C7 disc-with thecal sac indentation &left neural recess narrowing- impinging left C7 nerve root. After doing physiotherapy pain reduced. But doctor said it is a recuring disease.To avoid this what are the preccaution i have to take?

Several precautions you can take; Stretching your neck and shoulders and if you work on a computer make sure you have it ergonomically set up. You may also have subluxations in your neck (cervical) spine, which are spinal bone misalignments placing pressure on the nerve. In your case C7 nerve which controls your tricep muscle and sensation into the pinky and ring fingers.
Chiropractors detect and correct subluxations and can be extremely helpful in pinched nerve cases. Your doc is correct that a disc herniation is a permanent condition , but that doesn't mean it's a life sentence of neck and arm pain either. Good luck!
If problem persists try cold laser therapy or low level laser therapy , also extremely helpful and inexpensive.
