Question
I have a snall amount of discomfort when I bend my back backwards, or lie in bed on my front. The discomfort is centred directly on my spine about halfway up. If I press it with a thumb it feels slightly like a bruise. When I ben it backwards it feels stiff. The affected zone is maybe between 2 vertebrae and nowhere else. I don't remember hurting it and it has been going on for about a month to 6 weeks. Does anyone know what it is.

Answer
Hello Neil,

Often the posterior joints of the spine (Facets)can get irritated for numerous reasons. This can cause sharp, achy, or a bruised feeling.  You may want to see a doctor of Chiropractic to have a exam to determine the exact cause.  After the exam a proper treatment plan can be established to treat your condition.

Have a great day,
Dr. Brendon O'Brien D.C.
