Question
I been having a severe burning sensation in my left left. I had a MRI done and from what they see is bulging disc in my back that pressing against the nerves.  they have prescribe pain meds and all and nothing seems to ease the pain. would you recommend surgery for this sort of problem. I really want to be normal again....please help

Answer
Hi mimi,

I am sorry that you are having so much trouble.  The nerves are what tell you about pain.  So it is a pretty direct raw pain when they get touched.

I can't give an opinion about surgery because it is not my field and I don't have direct access to your case.

Two general comments.  First, chiropractic can often give some relief in these cases.  We aren't going to fix a disc, but sometimes we can help the body adapt to the situation much better.  It is safe and conservative.

Secondly, surgery does not make you 'normal'.  You trade one set of problems for another.  It may be better.  It may not be better.

Bottom line...if you haven't consulted a doctor of chiropractic, I would suggest it at least for a direct opinion.

I wish I could do more and pray for a satisfactory outcome.
