Question
I have been diagnoised with sciatica, and herniated lumber l5 -s1.  When ever I do my exercise in the morning to get my body moving the stiffness goes away for a short period but returns again.  I have a physical demanding job which requires a lot of bending, twisting, climbing crawling and carry a heavy tool bag.  Im a 55 yr old female in heavy construction and my dr advised me to apply for ssi.  My arthristis has worsen.  What is radiculopathy?  I have been going to pt for quite some time now.

Answer
Radiculopathy is pain, felt from the spine, usually down the arm or leg.  Your radiculopathy is the sciatica.  You may want to look for the following exercises to help:  Psoas/Iliopsoas stretches.  Also, if you can find a McKenzie practitioner, you may be able to overcome the pain from the herniation.
