Question
I had torn the calf muscle in my right leg.  After this was diagnosed I was sent to a Physical Therapist.  After the first visit I started to develop a radiating pain from my buttocks down to my knees in both legs.  It is not the bones but the muscles.  It makes it very difficult to stand and even more difficult to walk.  Can you help me please?

Answer
It sounds as if there is irritation to the sciatic nerve; that would explain the pain from buttocks to knee.  You didn't mention how the calf was torn.  It is quite possible that misalignment of the hips was caused leading to the irritation of the sciatic nerve.
