Pinched elbow nerve

Question
I've been working out 5-6 days a week now for almost 2 months. I started noticing my arms would sometimes fall asleep during the night. I also noticed my left hand would occasionally fall asleep, and my pinky/ring finger would go numb. Is all this happening because of my workouts? Like a pinched nerve or something?

Answer
Tyler,

First and foremost if you are working out 5-6 days per week you are in risk of over training. This is a mistake that almost all newbies make when increasing their work out schedule. If you are not a newbie I can only assume you are splitting your body parts in different work outs and on different days. If not you need to look into HIIT programs and the PACE system so that you are getting the most from your work outs in the least amount of time with out over training your muscular system. It is important to work out hard and efficient w/o over training. If oyu need more information on the types of training please Google the topics or resubmit a question to me and I can answer specific directed questions.

Now for the possible pinched nerves. The quick answer is YES it does appear that you may have pinched one or more nerves in your arm and spine. I am suggesting you have a "double crush" meaning from your description you may have pinched nerves in the elbow as well as in the neck and upper back area. All of the nerves that go down your arm(s) emit from the neck and upper back portion of your spine. You may have a subluxation in that area of your spine! ( a bone out of place pinching a soft nerve) The entire length of the nerve can be affected. Please note you are allowed to have a nerve pinched in more than one area at a time and you can have two separate nerves pinched. I suggest you got ot a Chiropractor and have an exam and follow through with his recommendations.

I hope this has shed some light on your health issues as well as your work outs!!
