Question
Hi i got injured 5 weeks ago by my shire horse,we ended up going through the stable door together at the same time as i did not get out the way quick enough,so the top of my chest and neck got pressed against the wood frame and my back was against her body,so it felt like i was getting crushed,I was in alot of pain so went to a&e the xray came back ok,but it was painful to lift any thing for 3 weeks, but now a week ago the top of my sternum on my right side has a hard boney lump which is larger then my left side, does not hurt to press on it,but lifting with my right arm still gives me some pain through my collerbone, any ideas what this is please?
thanks

Answer
Sounds like your sternoclavicular joint is swollen. A healing fracture can also be an enlarged area. I would wait another 2 weeks and if it is still troublesome, have it evaluated. I wonder if you have dislocated the joint as well? My best advice would be to have the region xrayed.
