Contortion - compressed joints?

Question
Hi, I am 16 years old and about a year ago i started contortion,  mainly back bending. In a years time of practicing daily I have gained a HUGE amount of flexibility.
Recently though, I have felt pain in my middle back, specifically on one joint a bit on the right side mostly when back bending. It is more of a dull pain. But I went to my chiropractor and he said I have compressed my joint. So I took a week and a half break and it got a lot worse. I went in again and got laser done.
The pain has reached a plateau where it doesn't get better or worse, this scares me a lot. I haven't done any back bending in about three weeks.

First question is, is this something that I will have to work through? Because in a short Time from now I am going to an important camp in Montreal at the national circus school and this is very important to me.
Second question is, is there any other conditions with the spine/back that fits the description I explained? Should I get an X-ray done?

Thank you!
I just want a second opinion, and I have been seeing my chiropractor a lot which is becoming an expense haha!

Answer
It could be a disc injury due the chronic strain of contortion. I would would X-ray it and probably consider an MRI. You need to go for treatment 2 to 3 times a week for a few weeks to get it under control, but consider the xray and MRI to get all the details.
