Shoulder weights for postural correction

Question
Dear Dr. Gillman,
My partner has problems with poor posture (drooping shoulders, slouching) that are exacerbating her chronic neck and shoulder pain, and appear to be leading toward kyphosis.  I have heard of a chiropractic appliance for posture correction that is something like a small backpack with weights that gradually pull the shoulders into a more healthy and natural position.  I would like to know your expert opinion on this therapy, and, if you approve and recommend it, where I might obtain this appliance.
Thank you for your time.

Answer
HI Lori,

There's a lot of contraptions on the market, but, frankly, she would do well to strengthen her postural muscles at the gym, and she can lay on her back on a foam roller to fulcrum her spine into extension.   Even yoga can be helpful.    Foam rollers are available at sporting goods stores, or simply go to amazon.com and look at them.

'Hope this was helpful.
