Question
Have you ever heard of this?
My daughter 9 was continually popping her neck just by slightly turning from side to side. Now she can not turn her head without the POP. To look around she turns her whole body. Her Xrays of spine are normal.  They say her trachea is popping and they dont know what to do.  It has also become painful.  any suggestions   thanks

Answer
Yes, sounds like your daughter has some overtight neck muscles, the discomfort of which is prompting her to pop her neck.

Chiropractic cannot help, as the problem is muscular.

I offer a couple of options:

Take her to a somatics practitioner, who can retrain her control of her neck muscles. A list can be obtained at somatics.com; click the Practitioners button in the navigation bar at the top.

Guide her through the neck exercises found in the book, The Magic of Somatics, available at the same site.  For a free preview, send blank email to [email protected].

No need for the problem to continue.
