Hi David,

I actually emailed you a several weeks ago regarding back pain, but I also had another question about neck pain and hearing loss.

This may be totally seperate, or it may be a side effect of my back problems, I have no idea.

Firstly, realize that my job requires me to sit at a desk all day, staring down at a circuit board.  What i do is manual assembly.  I do try to practice good posture, and we stretch regulary at work.

Anyways, I've been noticing that when I position my neck/head in certain positions, my hearing starts to diminish.  Mainly, if my head is tilted forward or backward.  Sometimes when I go to sleep in a natural position I notice this problem.  It's a hard problem to describe.  It's as if the natural sounds around me are lessening.  I notice, it's mainly the higher frequencies that cut out. Also, when this happens, my neck feels tighter and I can feel the blood pumping through the veins in my neck.  With each puslation, my hearing lessens a bit more and returns. If I reposition my head, my hearing returns to normal. Nonetheless, it is frustrating, and I don't know what is causing it.  Do you think you can help?

Dax.

Thanks for writing!

I do not recall your previous question right now. But here is the answer to this question. It might be the same as I gave you for the back pain.

The brain and central nerve system are contained in a boney sturcture, the skull and spinal column.

The brain and central nerve system have to move to do their job.

Sometimes the skull and spinal column get stuck in a postion that does not allow the brain and central nerve system to do their job. Or, the spinal column cannot move into all normal positions (postures) and still allow the brain and central nerve system to do their job.

Given your occupation, it seems to me that your skull and spinal column are stuck so that when they move into the opposite position, the movement is incomplete or hindered in such a way that the brain and central nerve system cannot do their job. This interference with the normal function and movement of the brain and central nerve system causes you to lose your hearing. And interfers with the drainage of blood and fluid from your skull.

The only way to correct this it to normalize the bones so that they move properly.

Only a good chiropractor can do this, at this time. Yes, there are chiropractors out there who are caught in economic chains to the extent that they are concerned only about the money. But there are also chiropractors out there who are seriously concerned about restoring health and go the extra mile with training and practice to do so.

A mechanical correction of the bones in your skull or spinal column would help you.

If you want me to see if I can find a referral in your area, please let me know.
