Question
I have had 2 previous discectomy and laminectomy surgeries and still have many problems. My latest MRI shows a focal herniated disc left paracentral at L4-5 causing encroachment on left nerve root. Herniated disc at L5-S1 with encroachment on right nerve root and obliteration of right lateral recess. Narrowing of the L4-5 disc space with desiccation of the disc at L4-5 and L5-S1. What does this mean? I really don't want to have another surgery. Are there any alternatives for me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
I see patients everyday come into my office with similar MRI findings, There is a condition called FBSS or Failed Back Surgery Syndrome.  This is a real term used when a patients continues to suffer from pain and loss of mobility long after surgery. According to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, there are approximately 200,000 laminectomiees performed every year with an estimated 20-30% of these operations reported to be unsuccessful. A laminectomy removes bone and thickened tissue that is narrowing the spinal canal and squeezing the spinal cord and nerve roots. If you are still suffering from pain after surgery and your MRI shows that Discs and nerves are effected.
Post-surgical patients have experienced fantastic therapeutic results from Non-surgical spinal decompression, If you had any brackets, plates or screws during your surgery that would prevent you from being a candidate for this procedure.
I would recommend you look into spinal decompression on the DRX 9000 it is safe and non surgical
