Question
Dear Sir,
I am doing a reseach on the methods we can provide better mobility for cripples. I appreciate your help on the issues like how we can equip our public vehicles and streets, what works have been done lately and information like this.
thanks in advance

Answer
Hi Anna,

People who have impaired mobility can benefit from many adaptations to sidewalks and vehicles. I would suggest searching the web for specifics (which I've done some of). Here are some valuable links:

http://www.ncdot.org/doh/preconstruct/altern/value/manuals/handi.pdf

http://www.access-board.gov/transit/html/vguide.htm

I hope this information is helpful.

Jon

PS- You may not know this, but "Cripples" is an old fashioned term. We now use "people with disabilities" recognizing that we are all people first.
