Question
sorry to bother you so much. back and hip pain dysfuntion can really be the worst thing in your life as it everyday and unrelenting.

in my case from the info ive given should i proceed with getting an expensive mri for the hip and or back?

thanking you in advance.

Answer
Dear Jii,

I would not get an MRI at this point.  You already know that you have a disk bulge from the previous imaging/diagnosis.  Unless the problem gets worse, new symptoms emerge or pain starts to move down the leg, I would hold off on the test.

If things do progress, then yes it would be a good choice to follow-up with.

Respectfully,
Dr. J. Shawn Leatherman
