Question
Dear Dr. Tran,
Thanks for answer. I just have a quick follow up question about this. My chiro uses the pro adjuster which I think only adjusts posteriorly and lateraly. Is this a problem that it only adjusts those ways? She did not check me by using palpitations she just checked me with the pro adjuster.

-----Question-----
Dear Dr. Tran,
Thank you for your willingness to answer questions! How can a chiropractor detect if a subluxation is anterior or posterior? Also, are the treatments they same for both kinds? My chiropractor uses a machine to adjust me and she said that it adjusts posteriorly and I am wondering how she knows to adjust me that way. Thanks so much!
-----Answer-----
Dear Chaya Tova,

Chiropractors can detect the direction or position of "subluxation" simply by palpation.  By feeling for the position of the spine, a chiropractor can determine if it slid forward or anterior subluxation or protruded back (posterior subluxation).  The technique to correct is different for each one and this is corrected by according to the chiropractor's hands placement and the force directed to correct the subluxation.

I hope that answer you concern.

Answer
Dear Chaya Tova,

I am not familiar with the "pro adjuster" so I won't be able to give you much of an opinion on it.

Ask your chiropractor about your concern with the machine.  She should be able to address your concern better since she is utilizing the machine.  I don't utilize the machine to adjust the patients but simply using my hands.
