Question
QUESTION: I have just been diagnosed with having 2 extra ribs. Recently received an xray
for an ongoing problem I have had for over 10 years.
When i excercise usually walking the pain begins with a tingling feeling then
pain down my eft arm. The ends of my finger sometimes don't have any
feeing.
when running your fingers own one arm my left side has a strange sensation
compared to  the normal side.
I currently do pilates at least once a week, hockey once a week and eveyday
at least a 40 minute walk. Being acitive is a big thing in my life the thought of
having to give anything up would be unacceptable however the pain is  
becoming unbearable and teious. I am only 38. please help.

QUESTION: My doctor did not show me the xray but he did say at the top which is where the
added pressure is coming from.

OK, these are known as cervical ribs and although for whatever reason your innate decided to put them there you can still have normal function while you have them.  First things first is that you need to make sure that your cervical spine is aligned properly as this will yield the best possible outcome for you.
I would suggest going to a chiropractor if you have not already and even further would suggest an Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractor.
