Question
I was diagnosed with spondylilosis, and spinal stenosis when
I was 19 years old. Surgeon said surgery probably wouldn't
work. I've been living with chronic pain- head aches,
tingling and locking fingers, upper back pain, lower back
pain, burning in my back, severe tightening of legs and
feet, pain running down from back to feet, loss of strength
in left hand and left leg(chiro said my right hand is 40%
stronger than my left), hip pain, nausea, nervousness(for no
reason like going to the movies!), I used to be constipated
and now I've got diahrea all the time and I feel like my
legs "forget" how to work. I visited a chiropractor for the
first time last week and he said that I have a grade 2/3
(50%) spondylilothesis at the l5 over sacrum. My L1-4 are
obviously out of whack as well. The L5 is moved 19 mm
forward. My upper back is slightly out of place and so is my
neck. He did one of those thermal temp readings and more
than half if mine were in the orange and red.
My question... (keep in mind I am 31 years old)...he says he
can "fix" me but it would take a long time. A year or more.
But I don't understand how pushing on my back to realign me
is going to pull the L1-5 back into place. I'm afraid I may
end up worse off than I am now. He saw this from just an
xray...my PCM is sending me for an MRI but I'm waiting on a
referral.

Answer
i'm sure he will be able to help you with the neck and mid back pain and numbness into the fingers. that's the easy part.
the spondylolisthesis is much more difficult and he is right it will take a long time, so be patient. he is not pushing on your back , he is removing pressure on the nerves in the spine due to misaligned vertebrae in your spine. that is why you have numbness radiating into your hands.
The weakness in the legs is because of your spondylo (which is a forward slipped vertebrae putting pressure on the spinal nerves that control your legs. you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by seeing him. you have no other options at this point. make sure you never do yoga and hyper extend or do back bridges (this will make things much worse) please make sure he is releasing your psoas muscle (pronounced; so-as) he can only release that muscle from the front near your abdomen and front of your pelvis. be patient and good luck!
another thing you can try is cold laser with chiropractic care to reduce inflammation in the spine and ease the spinal stenosis pain. stick with it and best of luck.
